Great Wolf Lodge, Part 1

Last week, we surprised the kids with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells.  It was supposed to be a total surprise like last year, where we just loaded them in the car like we were going to school, but then kept driving.   However, Wednesday night, Isaac was checking my email for some reason, and came across a reservation confirmation from Great Wolf Lodge and figured it out.  I tried to get him to keep quiet about it, but that just doesn't seem to work with Isaac.  He slipped, rather loudly, and told Avery.  Brady overheard.  John and I decided to just tell Nathan so he could be in on the excitement.

We left early the next morning, stopping in Gurnee for their famous donuts and chocolate milk.  When we arrived, they were renovating a bunch of their rooms, and they told us we could wait a few hours for the one we booked (the basic room), or we could take a different room (a HUGE family suite, for the same price).  Hmmmm.

Our giant room!

This year, we let the kids play Magiquest, which is basically a giant interactive scavenger hunt through the hotel with magic wands, and includes fighting a dragon and a goblin king at the end.  It was hours of fun!

Poor Brady had some chaffing going on, and I couldn't resist!

We had a little trouble figuring out the game at first, but once we did, the kids were all over the place, finding clues and gathering money.  Isaac was a sweaty mess by the time we were finished.
